Another Day in Saigon

It is Saturday in Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon), and we found it a great day to catch up on some sleep an a bit of grocery shopping. Although there are many great restuarants here, with absolutely fabulous food, it is great having a kitchen so we can cook some of our own meals. As is the case in most foreign countries, you have to be careful of what you eat and drink. There is really only one grocery store that has large refrigeration to keep fresh foods cold. So that is where I bought some fruit (as long as you can peel it, it is pretty safe), a few vegy's and some fresh chicken.

We also got to pack up and move up a few floors to a new room today. We downsized from a three bedroom to a two bedroom, but it is still pretty good size and comfy. Actually the view from the twelth floor is beautiful, especially at night.

After the grocery, we hot the pool, where Katelin and Lilli had a blast. The sun was hiding so it got a little chilly, so Lilli and I hoped in the hot tub (actually luke warm, but for Lilli it was perfect.)

Then we came up and had dinner which included our all time favorite, dragonfruit. If you have never seen dragonfruit before, it is a bright pink colored fruit with an absolutely delectible flesh that is bright white with little black seeds. It sort of cross between a pear and a kiwi. Yum, Yum.

Then we popped a bag of popcorn and kicked back and watched "Monster's Inc." on the Disney Channel. Yep, all the same shows with Vietnamese subtitles. It and ESPN have been the two channels of choice, although we also get CNN, National Geographic, The Discover Channel and a few Australian networks as well. All together there are 30 channels in 12 different languages to choose from. So those days kickin' back in the hotel, are palatible.

Good news is we got word from our faciltator that we will be able to have our G&R on Monday, that means passport on Tuesday, fly to Hanoi on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Final check out and visa on Wednesday, fly home on Friday. We will see if this actually comes to fruition, but our facilitator seemed pretty sure. Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks
